comments comments

i heard or read somewhere that it only takes one negative comment to outweigh three positive ones (or sth like that) and i'm finding it to be quite true. i believe most times people do not mean to say things which make u question the decisions you have made or want to make, but they nevertheless may have an effect of making you think perhaps u made the wrong decision or if u have made up ur mind, it might be undone again. u know what i mean?

take for example yesterday. someone asked me "what's up with the funky glasses?" so i said "kenot meh?" and the reply was "can! i like it! just wondering wat's up with it" i was pleased someone liked my choice of new glasses.

then later on in the day, someone else said something to the effect of he feels uncomfortable looking at me in my new glasses - he thinks it's not suitable for me, and i look more like a hip student than a professional lecturer. i told him he was the first person who has reacted in the negative with regards to my new look :D but it did make me think anyhow. altho i still like the new look and am happy with my choice of trying something different.

i suppose u can't please everyone and i'm not going to. haha. they just have to get used to the new glasses. after a while, it'll be normal again.

that aside, i was thrilled when the speaker yesterday mentioned several things in his sermon which was exactly what we prayed for in IPN that morning :) i was leading IPN yesterday and so it's up to me to set the "theme" and to me, it was God's way of encouraging me that i'm hearing Him rightly, and i shud keep on pursuing Him. it's amazing how God works. hehe. not that if the speaker didn't say those things i wud be discouraged, it was just a bonus to know he's on the same page.

itchy feet

been thinking bout going on a holiday :P

MAS is having their annual travel fair starting tomoro - i wanted to log in to their website to check out if they have the fares up already but it's loading oh so slowly so i'm wondering - is it even possible to get into the page if i want to book a ticket much less be able to actually place a booking successfully? i mean, i know they want to go virtual and all - so i say they'd better upgrade their online system. haha. anyhow, i think anyone who's serious bout cashing in on the fair wud prolly do better to call or just go to an agent near them.

i had been planning to go to KK in June for a conference but it seems that it might be postponed so no news on that yet. my housemates want to go Bali (i've been wanting to go for a long time) but i'm not too sure if this is the right time. i'm supposed to start saving up for Melbourne & Brisbane. i made a pact with MK to go in 2008 :) hehehe...

whenever i talk to most frens about travelling the complaint is always that our msian ringgit doesn't translate well into other currencies and therefore makes it very expensive for us to go elsewhere, esp outside of Asia. i just wish sometimes that this currency thing wudn't be so frustrating. bleh.

that said - i do hope to travel in due time, to see the rest of the world and taste a bit of what it's like to live in different cities or countries. perhaps it wud help widen my horizons? :)

the invincible one has fallen

i had a very good track record at work - last year i didn't take any mc at all and have been pretty healthy most of the time. quite a few of my colleagues have fallen sick and i have always been standing strong but today, my body decided it wants me to stay home. i got up this morning with stomach upset which left me feeling weak and breaking out in cold sweat, and had a nagging sore throat. so smsed my colleague to tell her i won't be going to work today.

i felt really odd not being at work and for some time i was still debating whether i shud just go to work still, since i thought i wasn't feeling all that sick. my housemate told me i shud stay home and rest and so i decided to stay home. after that, my sore throat swiftly became a full-blown flu and the pain got worse. it's as if my body knows that it can afford to be sick since i won't be at work :P

actually i'd rather work i think, coz being sick is no fun but i suppose a day of rest will do me good. i shud be back at work tomorrow.

it's a good thing i have my laptop with me at home and i'm using wireless streamyx. hehe. else i'd be so bored, and i still hv to hand in my assignment later today. well, i'll c u guys soon!

glorious food!

this is the lamb shank!!

this is the sirloin elvin had :)
since ev and ingching raved about how good the food looks in the other pic, here's a close up to make u salivate even more :D muahahaha

with the 2 birthday babies

Hey all, i just discovered i can now post pics directly in blogspot without using a host ( ya ya, i know i'm very ketinggalan zaman, but at least better late than never la hor?)

this is what i was up to on monday nite - went for dinner with maykee (on my left) and elvin (on my right) at exza - for those of u who are unacquainted it's in padungan rd in kch.

we had an early birthday celebration coz mk's birhday falls on 12/2 and elvin's is today (8/2) - HAPPY BIRTHDAY, VIN!

and i wanted to give them a treat before i left.

the food was great, the ambience nice and service friendly but the best of coz was the company. i almost was going to 'merajuk' already coz elvin had been too busy to meet up and i told him in my text that if he couldn't come for dinner i had nothing to say dy coz i was leaving the next day. hahaha. but we had a great great time :)

the lamb shank was really good - and big portion too - sirloin was not too bad also and my ice blended green tea was superb. keke. loved the fries with herbs too. we had baby octopus as entree but i wasn't too keen on that altho it tasted ok. i'm definitely lacking in the adventure dept when it comes to food :D

oh, and i must say - i got new glasses. hahaha. see it in the pic? kekeke. that's the newest thing i've done la. christine said "wah, everytime u go back home, sure got something new hor?" it's quite different from what i used to have, so i think it's a refreshing change. frens say it makes me look modern, funky, fierce, more like a teacher, trendy, cute(in no particular order). at least i get some response huh?
