are u a cat or a dog?

my fren ying got us to try this out :)

You Are: 50% Dog, 50% Cat
You are a nice blend of cat and dog. You're playful but not too needy. And you're friendly but careful. And while you have your moody moments, you're too happy to stay upset for long.

i'm back in PJ

i've just gotten back from my trip. it was a great time - a good break from work altho i cudn't run away from doing a bit of reading but generally still relaxing. i ate all the food i wanted to eat, and met all the people i wanted to meet. it was definitely fruitful and i enjoyed it immensely.

it's funny how i feel like i have 2 homes - one in Kuching and one here in PJ. i say things like 'i'm going back to Kuching' but i also say 'i'm going back to PJ' - so i'm travelling from one home to another! haha...most people who have lived away from their home/family wil identify with me :)

this time round, for me personally, there are a few things which touched me most:

1. being able to really make a connection with my brother, Eric - to show him that we all love him and want to see the best for him. i had a few talks with him, and although it was not the 'easiest' thing to do, i was glad i could do it, if it means that he can feel loved and cared for by our family and God.

2. was given the privilege to share in Young Adults meeting last Fri. i'm honored that my group of frens trust me enough to ask me to share openly on any topic i choose, and it'll be reward enuf for me if they are encouraged in their faith by the little that i can do.

3. my friends tell me that they see and sense a difference in me compared to before - some said i was more cheerful and jovial, some said i can relate to people better now (and i talk a lot!), and another said there's just a different 'taste' to me - that i seem more attractive and brighter...it's not so much what they said but i'm especially encouraged that my friends who are not believers can tell me these things, which means the work of God is real and evident in my life and i'm so grateful to God for that.

my youngest brother Ezra was a source of delight too - i'm so proud he wants to spend time with me....hehehe

all in all, i had a really great time back home - it's a welcome respite from work ;)

home on holiday

this post will be like my 'report' of what i've been up to these few days. pardon me if i'm too cheong hei. haha...

i'm back in kch for a short break since sat. i was telling maykee that this trip felt almost effortless. meaning, i din feel the usual stress of packing or thinking what 2 bring and etc. i had to stop myself to ask whether i really had gotten everything i needed and if i forgot anything, but all went smoothly on my way back. the plane was even punctual! (tat's an achievement for AirAsia :P)

we celebrated my dad's 57th birthday on sat nite - he wanted to go to this taiwanese place where he first dated my stepmum *ahem* and so we all went there for dinner. too bad the service was lousy, and the food was only so-so. as always my dad was unflustered and maintained his cool even tho all of us (esp me and younger sis) were complaining about their lack of service and courtesy. oh well, as long as he's happy :) i bought a small cake and i insisted we put on 12 candles (5 big ones + 7 small ones) altho he only wanted 1. hehee...

church on sun was alrite altho i dun really feel at home anymore coz i've been away for so long, and i can't quite identify with some of the things that they're doing. it's good to be in the house of God, but i suppose i dun really see myself as a part of this church family now that my heart is in CLGC. i spent the rest of the day catching up with old frens. i even met Len, a fren i've not seen in 4 yrs coz we always happen to come back to kch at different times. she's studying medicine in Russia. so it was fun just meeting up with frens.

Ezra still sticks to me a lot. he wants to follow me everywhere, but the good thing is he doesn't insist on it. he understands that there are times when he won't be able to come, coz it's just not a kid-friendly thing. he'll tell my mum to let me know where he is in case i'm looking for him, and he always wants to know where i am too. in a way, it's quite endearing and i have fun doing stuff with him. today i took him to the park near my house and kicked his football around, before jogging awhile. hehe. for some reason, i feel the desire to exercise and sweat these days. totally unlike before when i just couldnt be bothered. maybe subconsciously my body is telling my mind that i'm getting fatter! hahaha...

tonite i went for korean food with maykee and her frens. my first time trying it, including kim chi. it wasn't too bad altho i wud say i'm not crazy bout korean food. it was a new culinary experience, and i got to meet some new ppl, so it wasn't a wasted nite but all the same i think i still prefer mamak food and home cooked stuff, and kolo mee of coz...

i think tomoro i'm going to bug elise to have laksa in the morning. she said there's this place which has good laksa so i must go try it before i go back. and i better get down to some more readings. i feel guilty coz i haven't been doing my homework for my spoken discourse class this week. again. (it happened last week too but i managed to complete it last minute before the class). this week, less motivation coz i'm not going to be in the class! haha...but i shud get it done anyhow lar. bleh. the life of a student.

oh, and how cud i forget - i went to the salon and got my hair done. i feel like a tai tai coz i hv the luxury of spending like half a day there. i was quite pleased with the result, but just now i washed my hair and didn't hv time to blow dry it and it doesn't look so good anymore. boo hoo. all good things must come to an end? hahaha...i think i'll go borrow my dad's camera to take some shots later this week before i go back. so vain :P

ok report ends here before everyone falls asleep...more updates from meow city to come..
