Jehovah Jireh, our provider

I got an sms from Mum yesterday telling me that Pa had won first prize in a science project award! The prize value is RM6,000 and they had been both invited to attend the prize-giving ceremony this coming 28 Nov in KL.

Mum's currently teaching in ITS and her term ends on 26 Nov, so the timing is just right :) Ezra will be coming along too, and most probably, I'll be taking leave to baby-sit him while they're in the awards presentation ceremony. That'll be fun, I think. Hehehe.

Initially, Pa thought he didn't stand a chance coz when he went for the interview, it was over in like 2 minutes! Even the receptionist was bewildered and asked him if he actually went in already - to which my dad replied "I've gone in and come out!" Apparently, all the other interviews took about 30 minutes or so.

When they tried calling Pa to verify something, they were surprised to find out that my dad's tuition center is run from home, and it's not a registered institute. So again, Pa thought "There goes my chance now."

But, God really does provide for us. My mum's been worrying bout how to make ends meet coz it's going to be school holidays next month and the number of students for tuition has dropped due to that, and He's showed us how faithful He is! The money will definitely come in handy for my family...

I'm praying for God's providence for myself too, coz I still haven't figured out a way to pay my fees next semester, but I'm just trusting Him on this for now. Attempts to find a way has not been successful just yet, hopefully everything will work out fine.

I'll be busy studying this coming weeks til 14/11 which is the end of my exams, so there goes my Deeparaya plans :( But anyhow, priorities are priorities. I just hope I can gather enough enthusiasm for studying to last me till the end of term.

In case I get too busy to post "Happy Deepavali and Selamat Hari Raya" to everyone!

Birthday Celebrations

I'm officially quarter-of-a century old. I guess this is one of those milestones in life? The next one will be the big 3-0. But I'd like to think that I'm still young :P

Just wanna thank all the beautiful people in my life who made my day meaningful :) Thanks to all who called and sent me smses to wish me Happy Birthday, and for the emails, e-cards and online wishes too. All of you are dear and precious to me - what is life without people who love you and whom you love in return?

Diana as usual gave me something with her personal touch - she sewed the sequins on the cardigan she bought me and i absolutely love it! Last year, she gave me a pair of slippers with sequins sewed on too! She's really amazing when it comes to things like this...

Of course, my Lf and housemates gave me the greatest surprise. They all tried so hard to make me feel like they had forgotten my birthday and they almost succeeded. I was wondering why everyone did not want to come for dinner as usual and by the time it was 8pm, I still hadn't had dinner - and it felt miserable. Coz you see, all the planning was done through emails but of coz I had no idea. Since I'm in charge of dinner plans every week before Lf, I sent out the mail as usual and expected ppl to come. Haha. But as always, there are "give-aways" and I smelled something fishy when their stories didn't collaborate with one another. Haha. They all surprised me with a cake and pizza, and we had a great time hanging out. Thanks, you guys!

So this post is specially sent out to all of you - muchos gracias!
