grand update!
wow, it's been a month since i last blogged. hehe. not that u all are the least bit surprised - like ev told me "i've stopped holding my breath!" LOL blogging is to me - like one of those things on my to-do-list - which never gets done - coz so many other things obscure it in terms of urgency or importance - and i'm just not motivated :p
yes, christmas is looming near - i don't have grand plans, just going to relax and enjoy the company of good friends, and hopefully good food too! hehee...wil be spending the christmas weekend in spore most likely, we're trying to firm up the plans and then we're good to go. it's been a LONG LONG time since i went to spore - a decade - and it's high time i made a trip there...
i'll be spending some quality time with sherm & family this weekend and next. this week is just free & easy in s'ban, and next we're going to Genting with the Avanza forum gang - shud be quite fun i think. i was going to say - it's been a while since i went there - but then again - it's been a while since i've been ANYWHERE! blame it on my never-ending assignments, exams, workload, church commitments yadayadayada...it's not actually half as bad as it sounds, but i'd sure like more time (don't we all) to hv trips like these...
i'm blogging now coz i'm waiting for my boss to meet me - year end appraisal - same ol' usual stuff lah. will see what she has to say. hmm, ok, those are the updates...
i've been musing - about how our words can carry a lot of weight - wilfulsunflower posted sth along this line in her blog - bout how sometimes we don't realise how much our words mean to someone - it might not be just that one word or what u said at that one time, but cumulatively it does have an impact on people - it all adds up. i've always known that receiving affirmation from those i hold in high regard and from people i love has been really valuable, and it has helped to shape me in becoming who i've become today.
especially in the light of big and life-changing decisions like marriage, those simple words of support or encouragement, or even questions and concerns are key things that help shape my decision. i treasure those little gestures and chats shared with close ones about things dear to my heart. obviously, the reverse is also true. when people around us are less than encouraging, it makes us ponder and reflect on our decisions, and perhaps leads us to re-think what we've decided. not that people shud decide for us, but having the support of our community is important because they are our extra pairs of eyes to help 'watch out' for pitfalls that we might not be aware of.
so, what does the new year bring? and where does this path lead to? i haven't got all the answers, but it will be a new experience, for sure, walking down this path, and i'm assured God is with me, as i step out and venture into the next phase of life - would you walk with me too? :)
