relationships are complicated
not just talking bout BGR. any relationship has the potential to be complicated. why? simply because we are dealing with humans. with emotions, opinions, preferences and various ways of interpreting the situations that life brings. one same statement can be construed so differently by 2 people. misunderstandings occur because we don't understand what is going through each other's minds. a letter meant to clarify instead brought more muddle. the list goes on. its COMPLICATED!!! sigh...
we try not to be so blunt for fear of hurting someone, but they get hurt anyway. we try to express how we feel, but are misunderstood anyway. when we can't talk face-to-face, emails and smses come with a whole range of landmines - lots of opportunities to misconstrue and misunderstand. but if i think about speaking face-to-face, i fear and dread the confrontation. the thought of having to see the hurt or anger or frustration in the other person's face. what do i say? i'm sorry doesn't seem to be enough.
can we negotiate the landmines and come out safely at the end? with relationships intact and even stronger? or wil we be blown into pieces by the effect of the mines, and come out crippled, mangled and deformed?
